L-O-V-E this dress!
This is the BEST summer travel dress!!!! I brought it with me to Italy and wore it so many times. It's light and breezy but also substantial and not flimsy. The slight texture prevents it from wrinkling. I also love the length of the sleeves and side slits and how you can make the dress a v-neck.

Long, cool, roomy
I bought the white version with black stripes. It’s perfect for a hot day, though I might try washing it in warm water to shrink it a bit. On cooler days, I wear it as a duster over white linen pants and a white linen top.

See Through Bad Return Policy
I really wanted to like this dress. It was a splurge for me even though I have a lot of Eileen Fisher clothes. I hurriedly put it on to go to an outdoor concert. I took off the tags. Big mistake!!! I walked downstairs and my friend says, I can totally see your butt through that fabric.” I am 75 and that made me very self conscious. I decided to return the dress until I saw the statement on the insert that came in the mail with the dress…tags must be on to return it! Wow! Out $258. I really think if I had wanted to wear the dress and then return it, I would just worn it with the tags tucked in. I have been buying EF clothes for decades…literally…no more.

Lightweight and casual
Super comfy and roomy casual shirt dress. It’s not a flattering fit but more a super relaxed lounger. The white with stripes is rather see through so be aware. I like to wear with leggings or tank top sometimes. It’s light as a feather and perfect for hot summer days.

Great layering piece
Great for layering rather than a standalone piece. Unfortunately too sheer to wear alone. I was initially going to return this, but I really liked the fabric and pockets. It works perfect paired with pants (wide or slim) or even layered over a dress. I plan to use this more as a duster rather than a standalone dress. I may try finding a slip to layer underneath so I can wear it as a dress.

This dress is gorgeous. You may need a slip as fabric is lightweight. I am very pleased with my purchase. A great dress for casual work day or summertime. Great details and love the pockets!

Watch out for the sleeves
This is the perfect garment for hot+humid days when you would honestly rather wear nothing at all. Extremely breezy, and when the fabric does touch you it obligingly absorbs your sweat because it's 100% linen. I have the darker colorway (and overdyed it an olive green) and do not find transparency to be an issue. I would imagine the lighter color could be an issue though, as the fabric is quite thin, so take note.
4 stars instead of 5 because as others have said, the tightness of the sleeves is not ideal. I am extremely petite so I went for the smallest smallest size, which is fine in terms of length and dress bulk, but the armholes are just...they are a hair too slim. The are apt to hug and catch, when I would much rather they float free as the rest of the dress does.

perfect hot & humid day choice
I was on the fence as to size but decided to err on the side of caution and it was the correct choice. I have found that some extra fabric in a button-down dress (or shirt) is a very good idea unless you want gaps in various places while wearing the item buttoned. I tend to fluctuate between a M and a L but went with the L. This dress is very light and floaty and if it is gross outside it will make you happy. It is full in design, but the detail keeps it from being frumpy. The pockets are well-placed, the fabric is beautiful, and I had no issue with the sleeves being tight. There is a very slight sheerness to the fabric if the light is right but that is the price to pay for the summer-friendly fabric. You don't see any more than you would if you were wearing leggings and probably considerably less.
